Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water until just tender and drain well.
Place the beef in a large frying pan and cook gently in its own fat for about 10 minutes until well browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cottage and parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, pepper and half the tomato sauce until well mixed. Add the macaroni and toss gently to coat well.
Spoon the mixture into a large ovenproof dish, pour over the remaining tomato sauce and sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake at 180C (350F) mark 4 for 20 minutes or until heated through and the cheese on top is melted and bubbling.
