  • 700 grams Piece entrecote or rump steak
  • 2 teaspoons Seasoning Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 6 Mushrooms
Instructions
    First the Dressing
  1. 1 teaspoon of Salt 

    Half of teaspoon Pepper

    1 teaspoon of dry Mustard

    1 teaspoon of Sugar

    4 teaspoon of Vinegar 

    8 tablespoon of Olive or Vegetable Oil

    1. Put the salt, pepper,mustard and sugar in a bowl, add the vinegar and stir well until the sugar has compeletely dissolved.
    2. Gradually beat in the oil with a fork. If the dressing separtes, whisk it immediately before use until well blended.
  2. Now we Start

    Wipe the steak with kitchen paper towel, then score it in diamond shapes on both sides with a sharp knife. Put it on a rack in the grill pan.

  3. Sprinkle with 5 ml (1 level tsp) seasoning salt and half the pepper. Cut the tomatoes in half. Brush the tomatoes with dressing and arrange, cut sides up, around the steak. Cook under a hot grill for 5 minutes. Slice the mushrooms. 

  4. Turn the steak and sprinkle second side with the remaining seasoning salt and pepper. Arrange the mushroom slices overlapping on the rack and brush with French dressing.

  5. Grill for a further 5 - 6 minutes, according to taste, to check whether the steak is cooked, make a small cut in the centre with a sharp knife.

  6. Carve the steak in thin crossways slices, on a slant, and serve with the grilled vegetables. Spoon over the juices from the grill pan. if you wish.
